I don't speak Spanish and don't know the exact words, but a friend who met and married a Peruvian gal while he was in the Navy went to Peru on their honeymoon and met her parents. He says he was trying to say that he was very excited to finally have the chance to get together with them, but instead of using the word "excited," he used a cognate word in Spanish that apparently means "sexualy aroused." To have been a fly on the wall...

An almost identical story happened to a friend of mine on a student exchange in Qu├ębec. On being offered more food, she told her host family, "non, merci, je suis pleine." That's literal French for "I am full," but that's not what it meant in that context.
